Delivery
Our delivery partners
We use various third-party delivery partners to deliver our products to you islandwide (in Sri Lanka). We will notify you of whom this delivery partner is after you place your order with us.
Delivery charges (within SriLanka)
The delivery fee depends on the province and region where you live in Sri Lanka and will be shown on your invoice before checkout.
Delivery charges are FREE for all orders over Rs.5,000.00 to anywhere in Sri Lanka. Please note that this is not applicable if you choose the payment method as the “Cash On Delivery – COD”
For orders below Rs.5,000.00, there is a nominal delivery charge based on your delivery location. This is shown on your invoice before check out.
Payments
You can pay by credit card, Bank deposits, or Payment by Cash on Delivery (COD) Order or simply pay on Delivery.
We offer various payment options. One of the options being direct deposit to the bank. Direct deposits to the orders are deemed to be confirmed when the payment has been credited to our bank account.

International Delivery
International Delivery will be available soon. Due to increased delivery costs and uncertain delivery times, we have temporarily suspended deliveries outside Sri Lanka. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Please contact us at [email protected] for courier charges and more details.
Estimated delivery date
The standard delivery time for Books is 2-7 working days from the date that we accept your Order.
All orders received on working days, are dispatched within 48 hours of receipt of order but may take up to 7 working days to reach you depending on your delivery location in Sri Lanka.
Orders which are confirmed during Sundays and holidays are processed on the following working day.
We are doing our best to deliver orders within our usual lead times, but please be aware that some may take longer due to unavoidable circumstances. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Please do not hesitate to email a member of our Customer Services team if you have any questions.

Cash On Delivery
We do deliver books which are in stock through COD all over Sri Lanka. We will contact you over the phone before the approval of the order for confirmation.
We kindly ask you to prepare the full amount to be paid before the courier service arrives at your place. This will reduce the chances of unnecessary delays and time spent with outsiders. We respectfully request our loyal customers to use all possible health and safety strategies in all transactions.
Please note that three delivery attempts will be made through a third-party courier service. They will try to contact you over mobile before visiting your delivery address, so please ensure that someone at the delivery address accepts the package.
Changes to estimated delivery date
We, or our delivery partner(s), will notify you of reasonable changes to the estimated delivery date where events outside of our or our delivery partner’s control delay or prevent delivery from taking place at the original estimated date and/or time. Delivery of the Products will take place when we deliver them to the address that you gave to us. If we cannot deliver your Products within 30 days, we will:
- let you know;
- cancel your order;
Changing delivery address
you have the option to change your delivery address within 24 hours of receiving the order. But please note that this is not possible after handing over the package to the courier service. However, keep in mind that sending the package to a new address may incur an additional charge.
When the delivery has taken place
You are responsible for the Products when delivery has taken place. In other words, the risk in the Products passes to you when you take possession of the Products.
Return & Refunds
Return
We want you to be completely happy with everything you buy from BookMania. If you are not satisfied with something you have bought, simply return the item(s) within 14 days for a refund.
We do not offer the option to exchange an item. A new order will need to be placed.
If we have made any fault in your order and the error was made by us, BookMania.lk will refund the purchase price and delivery cost.
If you wish to return the book for any reason, please fill out the form on the Contact Us page and submit it within 14 days of purchase (Return and Refund Request).
To authorize a return:
- Complete our enquiry form, found on our Contact Us page.
- Include your order number & telephone number.
- In the message box, include the reason for your return:
- Product damaged or faulty
- Incorrect item received
- Printing Mistakes
- Other, Please mention
- Change of mind
Once we receive your return request, our customer service agents will contact and kindly advise you on how to return the book to our office. Return the book in its original resalable for a full refund. If the books are not in original resalable condition, we will refuse the right to return the books or deduct up to 50% from the original selling price.
If you’ve changed your mind, you will need to pay the cost of delivery charges and return courier charges.
For a refund, the item(s) need to be returned:
- In their original condition; ideally in the original packaging
- To the correct returns address
- Within 14 days of the day you received them
- DVDs and music CDs must be returned with their holographic seal or shrink-wrap intact
- Any other item must be returned in new condition with its original packaging and accessories
- eBooks and eAudiobooks by their nature cannot be returned and once the download has started cannot be cancelled or refunded.
- You will need to pay return delivery costs if you’ve changed your mind or the BookMania did not do the fault.
Please note, all Products should be returned in their original, undamaged packaging, with all seals, tags, and labels intact.
Delivery costs will be refunded by BookMania for a subject to an error on the side of the bookseller. On the other hand, if the return was not ascended as a result of an error on the side of the bookseller, you will be solely responsible for delivery charges. Similarly, if you wanted to exchange the book, the delivery cost should be borne by you itself. In addition, we will not be held accountable for any deferments instigated by erroneous or mislaid delivery particulars or deferments caused to you in validating payments made by direct deposit and bank transfers.
Returning a damaged or incorrect item
In the unlikely event that your order arrived damaged please accept our apologies. Please contact us as soon as possible and within fourteen days upon receipt of your order. Please do not return anything until you have received a response from the Customer Service team. We may ask you to provide:
- Images of the item depicting the damage caused
- The image(s) you send us must also include the packaging the item(s) arrived in including the delivery note. This enables us to process your claim as quickly as possible and helps us to identify areas where our services can be improved. We will make arrangements for the return of the damaged items and will issue a refund once the damaged or incorrect items have been received.
Similarly, if you receive a faulty item containing printing faults or physical defects, please send us an image of the item so that we can ensure that a replacement/refund is processed for you. This also enables us to quality check our remaining stock.

How you will be refunded
We will make the refund via bank transfer/ bank deposit only. We are not able to make cash refunds. If the refund exceeds the amount originally paid, we may issue a credit voucher against future orders. We will issue the refund within 30 days of the return being received, though it can take up to 45 days to appear on your bank statement. The cost of returning damaged or faulty items will be refunded to you, but this needs to be agreed upon in advance of return. BookMania management reserves the exclusive right to decide on refunding or replacing a book.
We may deduct any applicable amount from the refund if such Products are returned to us in an unsaleable condition.
You might be charged a restocking fee if we agree to return your Product after the expired return period or if they are found to be damaged on receipt of return into our warehouse.
eBooks and eAudiobooks by their nature cannot be returned and once the download has started cannot be canceled or refunded.
The gift voucher amount is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash in part or full, and is valid for a single transaction only.
